Child Poverty and Neglect Photography Lola Spinks
My eyes, my eyes are heavy detached stones,
lying deep beneath my eyelids. Light,
shows the world in colour, like a mirror,
reflecting beauty. What does it
look like?
Darkness, darkness. Darkness is my light,
my colour palette, my shape and silhouette,
and music is my art, my picture book.
Your touch is my rock, and my grip is so tight.
Your warm breath and soft touch,
keep my dark days bright. But to touch
your face is never enough
To hear the surrounding sounds,
to taste, to smell, to touch and feel is to be one
sense too short.
Can I really know what’s going on, without eyes
to see from?

For my art project at school, I am aiming to raise awareness of Child Poverty through the use of art. So please, if you will, spread the word.

I bought this yeeeeeaaaars ago in Hugo, Oklahoma when I had to drop my dad off on a trip. Lived it from the get-go. It’s missing a couple of knobs. But it came with all this thread and some needles. Wonder how much it costs. #Singer #sewing #timeless #nevergonnauseit (Taken with Instagram)

Climb into my bed baby
I need you here to hold me
tuck my hair behind my ear
and hold my face and kiss me.
I love you and I miss you
I want nothing more right now
than to be settled in your arms
Til I’m asleep, safe and sound
And I’ll dream sweet dreams of you and I
And that you will love me
til the day that I die
